According to estimates, Lahore’s population was already growing rapidly in the late 20th century, and it saw significant growth in the 2000s due to industrialization, improved infrastructure, and the city's role as a major economic and cultural hub in Pakistan.

As of recent estimates, Lahore's population exceeds 13 million, making it one of the largest cities in South Asia and one of the fastest-growing megacities in the world.
